• Manthan on Migration

A seminar was organized in Garakhet to stop the migration from the mountains. Various issues including migration, employment, health, education were discussed in the seminar. During this time, villagers of about 40 villages of Jaunpur area expressed concern over migration.

A migration seminar was organized by Shivaay Janlok Seva Samiti in Garakhet of Jaunpur block. The public representatives and intellectuals present in the seminar expressed concern over the problem of increasing migration in the mountains.

Additional Commissioner Secretary Rural Development RS Pokhriyal said that in the last ten years, 857 people from 40 villages out of 123 villages of Jaunpur area have migrated. In which 57 percent were forced to migrate for employment, 6 percent for health, 13.58 for education, 2 percent for roads, 4 percent for fear of wild animals, 5 percent for agricultural problems, 12.42 percent for other reasons.

• Awareness about self-employment and government schemes

A two-day workshop was organized by Shivaay Jan Lok Seva Samiti under District Industries Center Narendra Nagar. In which information about various schemes was made available to the public by the department.

A workshop was organized by Shivay Jaan Lok Seva Samiti in Garkhet, Jaunpur. In which more than 50 people from the area participated.

People were informed about various schemes in the programme. So that the area residents can get involved in self-employment. Information about some schemes like Pradhan Mantri Srijan Rojgar Yojana, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Policy 2015, various schemes under Uttarakhand Handloom Handicrafts, single window facility was made available to the general public. Along with this, information about adding and removing names from the voter list was also given.
